Aesthetic & Cosmetic Dentistry at Smile Creations
Aesthetic Dentistry is a form of dentistry used to improve your teeth’s appearance and function, similar to the way you would have a new haircut or get a makeover to approve your appearance. Aesthetic treatments include veneers, crowns, bridges, tooth coloured fillings, gingival recontouring, teeth whitening and implants. The treatments are used typically to straighten, lighten, reshape or repair the appearance of your teeth and hence further enhance your smile. Aesthetic dentistry is not as specific as other forms of dentistry and often requires a multidisciplinary approach.
We provide the following aesthetic dental treatments:
Veneers
Veneers are thin shells of material that cover a tooth in order to change the size, shape or colour of your actual tooth. They can be made out of porcelain (for the best quality) and composite resin (the budget option) and are bonded to your teeth similar to how a false nail fits over your real nail.
Crowns
Crowns (also known as caps) are a type of dental restoration that fully cover all the surfaces of a damaged tooth down to the gumline. Crowns need to be cemented into place by your dentist and it becomes your tooth’s new surface. We use porcelain and reinforced composite materials for our patient’s crowns and work with award winning laboratories to provide you with the best quality crowns.
Bridges
Bridges are another form of fixed dental restoration used to replace missing teeth. Bridges are most often used if you have one or more missing teeth. The bridge will be placed in the mouth where the original tooth was missing and will be connected to the adjacent teeth similar to a bridge connecting one bank to the other over the river.
Gingival Recontouring
This is the procedure of re-shaping your gums. We use a laser for this treatment as it then becomes a non invasive, non surgical procedure. With the laser, we are guaranteed great precision and accuracy when shaping the gums more conveniently than with a traditional scalpel along with enhanced healing, regeneration and reduced discomfort with minimum complications. In many cases it also reduces the need of anaesthetics.
